Earth hour montreal style will entail people doing what they will in their homes with little guidance or fanfare from city hall. As per the norm, Montreal jumps on a bandwagon but brings nothing but horse shit to the party.
The press release reads like a last ditch effort to let people know how eco friendly the city is by turning off the lights on St-Laurent’s city hall (but not so much as to effect peoples safety). What a joke.
With no city wide plan tabled and no power reduction targets noted, this cities efforts will be nothing more then window dressing. I bet the spinner at the top of PVM will stay lit through the night. I’ll be taking video and photos to document the ‘non-event’.
