…to my dog is, well anything he can find on the ground including cardboard, random crumbs and if he has room, dog food.
This, as you may want to visualize results in waste. Specifically, dog shit.
We’ve been using PoopEase baggies for the last few months as I negligently fell into the greenwash of the packaging info. Biodegradable. But upon further study I discovered that while they might biodegrade, they are still made of plastic. The additive which allows the company to label the product biodegradable is d2w. Their site claims the additive can be placed in any plastic during manufacture and allow said plastic to controllably degrade in anywhere from 60 days to 6 years leaving only H2O and CO2. I’m kinda finding that hard to swallow. Fine, water and carbon dioxide…but what about the plastic tidbits left behind. Surely they can’t just up and vanish?
Either way here is a more elegant solution.

BioBag Dog-Waste Bags do not contain any polyethylene-based ingredients. They are as natural as dog waste and decompose within 40 days in a well-functioning composting environment. By comparison, it takes more than 100 years for normal plastic bags to decompose.
And a Canadian company no less. So go pick up a bundle of these suckers and do your doggie proud. Available at various locations in Montreal, but I get mine at the Maison Coop Verte in NDG.
