A little follow up on two previous posts.
The first being our visit to Windmill Point Farm last Saturday with a few close friends. Getting to know your farmer made easy. Stop by any Saturday and chat with the owners of a gorgeous, all natural, massive piece of land on Ile Perot. Ask Ken about his green building initiatives put to work in the ‘Green Barn’. Or their success and failures during 20 years of growing organically. But stop by early (ie 10am) or risk having little to choose from. The selection during market days will get larger and larger as the plants develop and produce. Can’t wait for the table grapes…
And to close that organic loop, we signed up for Stephen McLeod’s ‘Compost Montreal‘ service. Bucket in hand, it’s already been filled with the help of a kind neighbour who will go half in with us. The crew picked up our first load Monday night. So cool. Our ‘garbage’ for the week dropped by 80%. Give him a shout, take the plunge, it feels significant!
