Digging through the ingredient list on sunscreen is a pain in the ass. The Environmental Working Group has done their homework and amassed a large searchable database of sunscreens to save you the pain.
I’m not a big sunscreen user, I tend to seek shaded nooks and trees with massive canopies. However the little guy, well he strives for the outdoors. Hence the research. Nothing sucks more than finding out the stuff your slathering on your son was probably not the best choice. Thankfully in our case it was a good pick. Here’s hoping this helps you out as well.

Interesting. But man, it’s so much information. I’m glad someone else has done all the research and can give me the top 10 (& worst 10) picks.
As we are of the pink-skinned, skin-cancer-prone variety, sunscreen is always a must. Sadly, our particular sunscreen - 60 SPF - wasn’t on the Skin Deep site…just others by the same company. It didn’t seem to have any of the worst offender ingredients.
We’ll definitely be consulting this site when it’s time for our little guy to be continually slathered in sunscreen. Brings back childhood memories of my Mum (also fair skinned) always calling after me to put more sunscreen on!
That site also has a list of the top-10 veggies that you don’t necessarily need to buy organic.
